AAEF believes that ethical conduct is essential to maintaining public trust and advancing its mission in a lawful, responsible, and principled manner.

AAEF acts as a steward of public confidence and charitable resources. The Foundation is committed to:

• Conducting its affairs in a manner consistent with its charitable purpose and applicable law
2. Legal and Regulatory Compliance
AAEF complies with all applicable federal, District of Columbia, and other relevant laws and regulations governing charitable organizations, including those related to fundraising, charitable solicitation, privacy, and financial reporting. AAEF does not engage in unlawful political campaign intervention and operates within the legal framework applicable to organizations recognized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
3. Ethical Fundraising and Donor Stewardship
AAEF is committed to ethical fundraising practices and responsible stewardship of donated funds. Accordingly, AAEF:
• Ensures that solicitation and informational materials accurately reflect its mission and programs
• Uses donated funds in a manner consistent with donor intent and applicable legal requirements
• Provides donors with truthful, good-faith information regarding contributions and acknowledgments
• Respects donor autonomy and does not employ deceptive, coercive, or misleading solicitation practices
AAEF does not provide tax advice and encourages donors to consult their own professional advisers regarding the tax treatment of contributions.
4. Transparency and Accountability
AAEF strives to operate transparently and responsibly by:
• Maintaining accurate financial records
• Reporting information in a manner consistent with applicable accounting and reporting standards
• Making good-faith efforts to respond to reasonable inquiries from donors and stakeholders

AAEF seeks to identify and manage actual or potential conflicts of interest to ensure that decisions are made in the best interests of the organization and its mission. Individuals acting on behalf of AAEF are expected to avoid improper personal benefit and to disclose conflicts where appropriate.

• Uses donor and supporter information solely for legitimate organizational purposes
